Hi, I’m Ali!  I’m your typical Canadian girl.Born in Alberta but currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.   I enjoy cooking, weight training (love me some deadlifts!!) and living a healthy and active lifestyle.  I also have Type 1 diabetes.  Awesome right?  Diagnosed May 29, 2012 I’m still very very new at this.  I try to be as optimistic as I can and am doing my
best to learn as much as I can so I can grab the bull by the horns, so to speak.  That being said, I still have my moments.  It’s ridiculously overwhelming, but I’m extraordinarily lucky to have an amazing support system in my family and friends.  I started this to give me a place to write out my thoughts and frustrations; but also to organize those same thoughts to help me learn more and understand it better.  It’s not easy, but then life never is.  Well, a life worth living never is anyways!  So come on by, have a look and welcome to my world!

  1. Welcome to the DOC!! You’ve come to the right place to help you through your new life with diabetes. I can totally relate to what you’re going through as I was just diagnosed in February of 2012. Blogging has really really helped me and I’ve met a lot of awesome people through it! Looking forward to following along! 🙂

  2. Thanks Alison! Your recent diagnosis is one of the reasons I started following you! It’s nice to know that there’s someone in the same boat as me!

  3. If you ever need anythig at all…questions, advice, or just someone to vent to, feel free to shoot me an email. My email is on my blog contact page. And remember, things will definitely get easier everyday so hang in there!
